What is a Park Model?

A Park Model is a type of RV designed to be setup on a campsite for an extended period of time.  With the cost of recreational homes rising, many people are turning to Park Models and destination camping as a less expensive alternative for fulfilling their recreational needs.  Whether you prefer the mountains, the lakes, or the shore, Park Models can bring all the comfort and convenience of home to the location of your choice.

What is Destination Camping?

Destination camping is a facet of the RV lifestyle that has been growing rapidly over the past 10 years, wherein you leave your trailer in one place for an extended period of time and simply travel to your trailer instead of traveling with it.  Your trailer becomes like a summer getaway.  You simply choose the RV park or campground of your choice, and make arrangements to have what is called a seasonal site.  In private parks you would typically lease the site for a summer; or you can choose a condominium campground and actually buy the site.  Either way, you get to enjoy your favorite campground for the entire summer.

How many Park Models do you have on display?

Because we specialize Park Models, we typically keep an inventory of 50 new Park Models (making us the Park Model Super-Center).  By keeping so many park models in stock, we are able to offer you an unparalleled selection and save you the hassle of waiting up to four months for a custom ordered trailer to arrive.  In short, we keep so many trailers in stock so that you can find the trailer you really want, and have it at your site quickly.

Which brand offers the highest quality of workmanship?

Pleasant Acres has extensively researched all of the brands we carry, and we choose to work with the manufacturers who share our commitment to quality and complete customer satisfaction.  There are dozens of companies that build Park Models, but Pleasant Acres has selected several of the top manufactures to work with.  So, no matter which trailer you choose from Pleasant Acres, you can be assured that it is high quality.

What are the differences between the brands?

Breckenridge:

Breckenridge is the largest Park Model manufacturer in the USA and Canada, and they produce approximately 25% of the Park Models produced in that area.  They represent the benchmark for quality and functionality in the Park Model industry.  However, because they are so large they do not custom build units and do not modify any of their designs.  Again, they are the benchmark of quality at affordable prices.

Dutch Park:

Dutch Park is a flexible company that routinely leads the way in new designs and park model layouts.  We routinely work with Dutch Park to create custom units designed to meet the unique need of our mutual customers.  Because of this teamwork, you will find several models on our lot that do not appear in any of the Dutch Park literature; trailers that were custom built in anticipation of our customers’ needs.

Woodland Park:

Woodland Park has a long history of building high quality park models.  They provide our customers with a different feel than Dutch Park, and with the same flexibility, versatility, and willingness to custom build a Park Model exactly the way that you want it.

What is included in the price of a new Park Model?

This is a great question, and one you should definitely ask.  Some dealers will sell you the trailer, and then after the deal is done they will hit you with a bunch of extra hidden fees that end up costing you thousands of extra dollars, and immeasurable amounts of stress and anxiety.  Our goal is to make the purchase process as easy for you as possible.  So, here is a list of everything that is included in your new Park Model purchase:

Cleaning & Prep:

This doesn’t sound like much, but when neglected it will lead to a great deal of frustration and regret for the customer.  When a park model comes onto our lot, we spend about 15 hours cleaning the trailer, setting it up, and testing every component in the trailer.  Before a trailer leaves our lot, every appliance has been tested, every component has been assembled, every nook & cranny has been cleaned, the water system has been pressure tested, and the propane system has been pressure tested.

Site Inspection:

Before delivering your trailer, we will send one of our technicians to your campground to inspect your site and make sure the trailer can be delivered.  If any modifications need to be made to your site, we will let you know, and also work with you to find someone who can take care of the modifications.  This way, when the day finally comes to deliver your new trailer, you don’t need worry about surprises delaying the process.

Delivery & Setup:

Your trailer will be delivered by our professional park model delivery team, headed by our delivery leader who has delivered over 1,000 trailers in his 12 year career.  After the trailer is positioned where you want it, our team will set it up and then walk you through the trailer showing you how everything works and answering all of your questions.

Limited 2-year warranty:

Pleasant Acres chooses the highest quality brands to sell, but there may still be warranty issues.  Because most of these park models are built in Indiana, then shipped to Pleasant Acres, then shipped to your campground, small problems are not unheard of.  That is why the manufacturer of the Park Model provides a 30-day warranty against blemishes (scratched counter top, discolored wall-board, etc.), a 1-year warranty on the structure of the trailer (trim coming loose, etc) and a 2-year warranty on the appliances (water heater, furnace, air conditioner, etc).   You shouldn’t have to worry about problems arising with a brand new Park Model, and with Pleasant Acres you don’t have to.  If something does come up, just call us and we’ll take care of it.

3 Years of Routine Maintenance:

Every new Park Model comes with a 3-year membership in our Gold Service Plan, meaning that all of your routine maintenance is taken care of by Pleasant Acres.  That includes winterization for the next three years, spring inspections (e-winterizing) for the next two years, and a routine summer maintenance visit for the next 2 years.  All of this is done at no additional cost to you.  See our Gold Service Flyer for more information.

Pleasant Acres tries to make the purchase process simple and worry free for you.  If the above services were purchased a-la-carte, the cost would be over $6,500.00.  But, by packaging these services with the purchase of a new park model we are able to insure your satisfaction at a greatly reduced cost.

Can I finance a new Park Model?

Yes, you have several options for financing a new Park Model.  We have several banks that we can work with to help arrange financing for you.  Or, you can talk to your bank about taking out a loan for an RV.  Most banks will finance a new Park Model for up to 15 years, with the interest rate and down payment required varying depending on your credit.

What kind of service can I expect from Pleasant Acres?

You can expect unparalleled service from Pleasant Acres.  We have RVIA certified technicians that are trained and ready to assist you in resolving any problem you may encounter.

What is an RVIA certified technician?

In order to become an RVIA certified technician, the employee must pass a 205 question written exam, and be observed performing repair operations as specified in a 27 page, industry standard checklist.  The certification process is difficult, and insures that only true professionals become certified technicians.

Do you have to be certified to work on park models?

No, there is no law requiring that park model technicians be certified.  However, by choosing a dealership with certified technicians you can be confident that the people working on your new park model know what they are doing.  The technicians at Pleasant Acres can quickly and accurately diagnose problems, sparing you the aggravation and expense of repeated attempts to resolve a problem by changing another part.
